CREATE A MEANINGFUL ORGANISATIONAL STRATEGY, ENGAGE YOUR TEAM, HAVE STRONG ACCOUNTABILITY FOR STRATEGY EXECUTION

“The best way to predict your future, is to create it ... and if you want something new, you have to stop doing something old.”

Peter Drucker, author of Good Strategy Bad Strategy

Without a clear and meaningful strategy, it becomes very difficult to make any substantial progress with achieving organisational objectives. A successful strategy motivates team members from the leadership level through to the frontline to contribute wholeheartedly to the work of the organisation. Effective strategies are designed together by the senior leadership team with the input of other key stakeholders and guided by experienced strategy facilitators.

We facilitate strategic conversation processes to help you and your leadership team develop a compelling, coherent and documented strategy for your organisation that is meaningful and inspiring to your team and other stakeholders.

Through our strategic planning process, we help you to clarify the four strategic spaces for your organisation, which include:

  • Current Reality: Where are we now? What are the challenges and opportunities facing our business? The required characteristics for this conversation include Honesty and Insight.

  • Desired Future: Where do we want to be? What do we want to create in the future? This conversation focuses on Imagination and Possibility.

  • Strategic Options: How will we get there? What are our best options? Here we Prioritise and Make Choices.

  • Taking Action: What will we actually do? What are the next steps? The final step of the strategy process is making Commitments and having strong Accountability For Action.

A strategic planning process with us is a comprehensive facilitated conversation with you and your leadership team including stakeholder interviews, facilitated strategy workshops, and thorough documentation of the strategy we create together.

The strategic documentation that is produced from the strategic conversation is an artful synthesis of the strategic choices you and your leadership team make through the process. This is an extremely important document that is a reference point for the overall direction of your organisation. Once produced, you will use it to distribute internally for the purposes of engagement and externally to any other stakeholders to help them better understand your strategy and what you do.

Our comprehensive strategic conversation process involves:

  • Intent-setting: In-depth interviews with you (and any other of your most senior leaders that you would like to involve in the intent-setting phase) to clarify the high-level strategic objectives of your business in both the short-term (next 12 months) and long-term future (next 5-10 years).

  • Discovery: In-depth discovery interviews with select internal and external stakeholders, to draw insights and learnings that will inform opportunity areas to ensure the steady growth of your organisation into the future. Representation in discovery interviews will include your leadership and management teams, frontline staff, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders of your choice.

  • Invention: Brainstorming, prioritisation and decision-making on the primary areas of your business that you will continue or begin to devote the majority of your resources to, as well as what areas you will cease to give energy to. Concept creation of new opportunity areas for your business.

  • Prototyping: Testing of new concepts using design-thinking methodologies to arrive at a small number of proven concepts that you are ready to implement as active projects across your business.

  • Implementation: Refining and continuing existing business areas that are functioning well and creation of project teams for new opportunity areas that come out of the strategic conversation process. This process includes the creation of project management structures that ensure successful project delivery.
